I just used a 2021 MacBook Pro with the M1 Pro chip for 3 months. I was working at an agency as a Video Producer and pretty much used it every day with Adobe Premiere Pro and some After Effects. I was so impressed by the battery life, and especially the processing power, that I made this clip to share my impressions. This is all based on using the laptop to do real work, not bench testing using software – it’s a real world case study.
I am definitely not an Apple Fan Boy – I’m fairly ambivalent about most of their products so it shows how special I think the performance was, especially if you need to render lots of projects out in something like After Effects.
Now it would be nice to try the M2 chip out, if anyone wants to loan me one for another three months to test!
