The release candidate for MacOS Monterey 12.1 is now with developers and it resolves the issue with the notch getting in the way of menu bar contents, if the release notes are to be believed. In all honesty I’d say this was one of the least important issues for a long time – is it annoying on your new $2000 plus MacBook Pro, absolutely, but it was always going to get a quick fix because its just software, but of course it was picked up by all the notch haters as the reason that the notch should never have happened.

– Desktop and Screen Saver may appear blank after selecting photos from the Photos library- Trackpad could become unresponsive to taps or clicks- External displays may not charge some MacBook Pro…
