In this video I walk through the process of upgrading the ASUS Strix G15. I will also test the limits claimed by Asus compared to what users have reported the machine could actually support.
Hardware used for the upgrade:
– Wifi 6E: Intel AX210 for linux, if staying with Windows you may want to go with Intel killer edition AX1675
– RAM: Kingston FURY Impact 3200MHz DDR4 CL20 – I am using 2x32GB in the video.
SSD: Samsung 970 EVO Plus Gen 3 – You can use Gen 4 as its backward compatible. Gen 3 is all this laptop supports so it will not take advantage of the Gen 4 higher speed, so in most cases it will be a waste of money to go Gen 4.
