Overall, this is basically a repurposed Huawei Matebook D 14, with a few little tweaks here and there. Although not exactly ultraportable, this laptop weighs just under 1.5kg and its 14-inch frame slips into a bag with ease. You get a Full HD screen that’s sharp and good enough for movies and photo editing, although the colour reproduction isn’t natural. So creative users may wish to look elsewhere.

Still, the AMD version of the MagicBook 2020 sports a Ryzen 5 2500U chipset and Vega8 graphics. It can cope with everything up to light gaming, while the Intel model offers better life. All the same, I got around 7-8 hours of mixed use from a full battery.
