For Gcam to work on your Android device, camera2api has to be enabled in that Android phone. If you are using a phone that came with Android 9 (Pie) out of the box, then Camera2api should be enabled else you can check with an app called Camera 2 probe from Google play store.
Due to the fact that MediaTek devices have different Processor from Google Pixel devices that uses Snapdragon processors, it is very difficult to find modern Gcam Ports that works fine on Android devices with MediaTek Processors.
There are few Andriod Devices like (Redmi Note 8 Pro) with MediaTek processor that has a dedicated Gcam Porter (Developer) but apart from that, you’ll have to do a lot of trial as we did in this video to find a Gcam that works.
