It’s December 2021 Patch Tuesday! Microsoft has released today security updates for all supported versions of Windows, including the brand new Windows 11!
If you’re already running Windows 11 on your PC, you should now be seeing the KB5008215 patch waiting for you in Windows Update.

Microsoft didn’t list any specifics in the release notes except for “miscellaneous security improvements to internal OS functionality.” As of this writing, the company isn’t aware of any known issues in this update, but we’ll let you know if that changes.
For Windows 10 users running the version 2004, 20H2, 21H1, or 21H2 of the OS, the KB5008212 patch is also available to download in Windows Update. The release notes mention the same “miscellaneous security improvements to internal OS functionality” as in the Windows 11 patch, though.
