Q: What does this test?
CPU vs CPU — Fluid Bake Test does not utilize GPU
Q: Why was first test on M1 so slow?
A: OBS is a screen recorder that was set to utilize software recording with x264. There is a VT Hardware Encode option (which I am still testing) but it was not used for the first videos.
Quicktime is the native recorder.
Q: Why not use Quicktime all the time?
A: OBS can record Desktop Audio and Microphone same time, where QuickTime can only have one audio record. Also in case of failure – Quicktime cannot recover, where OBS can record in mkv – which can recover in case of error
