Night Sky Live | All Sky Camera



Watch the night sky in almost real-time, live from my roof. The sky cam is aimed slightly to the northeast, with Polaris visible at the bottom of the field of view. The stream is at a point where it is mostly automated, though I still have to make minor tweaks or reset the connection to YouTube once in a while.

Sometimes you can see meteors, satellites, planes, and anything else up there. Otherwise, you can see the stars and constellations of the Northern Hemisphere. You can see parts of the Milky Way, Andromeda, Pleiades, Orion, Saturn, Jupiter, Venus, and more. Notable constellations include The Big Dipper, Cassiopeia, Lyra, Cygnus, Taurus, Canis Major, Canis Minor, Orion, and many more.

During the day, you can see the Sun, clouds, planes, birds, and bugs.

Eventually I would like to make a timelapse that encompasses the entire year, but with each frame being from midnight every night, or something to that effect. You’d be able to see the Earth change its position in its…
