Samsung One UI 6: Is Android 14 for Galaxy better than Pixel UI?

  • by

Samsung’s One UI 6 is here, bringing Android 14 to the Galaxy S23 series, and it’s got me thinking about how phone UI has evolved over recent years.

Every now and again, there’ll be an enormous *big-deal* design overhaul — something like an iOS 7 or Android 12, that completely changes the look and feel of the platform. Then, over the years, more and more *stuff* gradually gets piled on top of that UI until, inevitably, the house of cards collapses and there’s another major overhaul — another generational design change.

And it feels sorta like we’re at the end of that cycle now with Samsung, five years on from the debut of this design language in One UI 1.0. But at the same time, One UI 6, I think, gives us a small glimpse of what’s beyond, in Samsung’s next design cycle. Let’s take a look at what’s new!
