What's new in Windows 11 Insider build 25197

  • by

Windows 11 build 25197 is another Copper build and likely the last official 251xx build, released to Dev Channel Insiders on September 8, 2022. Official ISOs were made available the next day (September 9).

The tablet optimized taskbar feature, which made a return with last week’s build 25193 as a hidden feature is now officially rolling out again! This taskbar has 2 states – ‘expanded’ and ‘collapsed’, and can be toggled from Settings – Personalization – Taskbar – Taskbar behaviors. Alongside this, the system tray changes from 22H2 builds have been brought back, including rounded corners for apps in the tray and the ability to hide the ‘show hidden icons’ button. (This also brings back the limitation that prevents you from dragging apps around in the tray, which will be fixed eventually). These features are only rolling out to a few Insiders, but can be force enabled with ViVeTool:
vivetool /enable /id:26008830

Animated Settings navigation pane icons, first introduced in build…
