If you get an error trying to sideload an APK file via USB then we can fix this by disabling the MIUI Optimization toggle.

I was recently trying to figure out a way to install the Google Play Store and all of its dependencies on the Redmi Note 12 that I imported from China. After having difficulty downloading an APK file directly onto the device via the built-in web browser, I decided to download it from my desktop PC and then transfer it over via USB.
However, I ran into an issue where I could not install the APK file. I just kept getting an “installation failed” error each time and I wasn’t sure what was going on.
